@A Gray Phantom: Everyone thinks about doing something before they do it. Yes, even trained fighters. Their thoughts might be reflexive, and automatic, and conditioned, and much faster than an untrained person's, they may not even realize themselves that they are thinking, but thoughts of some kind still need to occur before action. It is still a learned action, not part of the autonomic nervous system.

@Number 6: Even if there is some thought in between attacks, our hero would have to "think faster" than that, if that makes sense. That said, I admit at this point of the story we don't know what the extent of her powers are. Perhaps this is some kind of precognition?
